ContributeSource: Michael Doyle Their Name Liveth For Evermore: The Great War Roll of Honour for Leicestershire and Rutland. He was the son of Mr John Cunnington. Prior to enlisting he was a carpenter, he embarked for France on the 21st December 1916, and took part among other fighting in the big advance towards Cambrai in 1917. He died in the 54th Casualty Clearing Station after an operation for appendicitis. At the time of his death he was the commanding officer’s orderly.
