Guy Saunders was the son of the Revd Cecil Saunders and Ivy Saunders of Bangalow, NSW, Australia.

The photograph of Guy was taken on the 8th April 1939, in Ulmarra, a small town in NSW, Australia. It was submitted by D. Harris in 2021.

The funeral of AC Guy Saunders was reported in the Market Harborough Advertiser, Friday 19th March 1943:

'The funeral took place at Market Harborough Cemetery on Saturday last of Aircraftman Guy Edward Saunders, of the Royal Australian Air Force, who died in hospital whilst on service in this country. AC GE Saunders was the son of the Rev. Cecil Saunders, the late Rector of Bangalow, NSW, who was educated at the Market Harborough Grammar School and was for some years in business here with his brother, Mr GH Saunders, before going to Australia.
AC Saunders lived for some years in Papua, where his father was successively Rector of Port Moresby and Priest in Charge of the Mission Station of Sangara...The service was conducted by the Rev. O St Maur Williams (Vicar of MArket Harborough), who was assisted by the Rev. George Green (Vicar of Great Easton and former Chaplain to the Australian Forces, who performed the committal ceremony and gave a short address, enlarging the part played by Australia in the present war and the courage and devotion of her sons who had come so great a distance to help the Mother Country. The principal mourners were Mr and Mrs GH Saunders (Harborough), Mr FH Saunders (London), Mr GC Saunders (Stafford), Mrs ET Saunders (Ealing) and Mrs FM Dare. The wreaths included one from 'B' Squadron RAF ACRC and Officer Commanding, and one from friends at Abbey Lodge.'
