A report of his death, including a photograph, appeared in the Market Harborough Advertiser, on the 13th July, 1945:
Foxton Lieutenant Dies of Wounds
Lieut. E.H. (Tim) Watson (23), KOYLI, elder son of Mr and Mrs Clement G. Watson, has died from hand grenade wounds sustained in the execution of his duties in India.
He served in the first Burma campaign and had since been training troops for that theatre of war. He was educated at Sherbourne School and if the war with Germany had not broken out, would have entered Sandhurst in November 1939.
His brother, Paratrooper John Watson, is still serving with the Middle-East forces.
As small boys they were often seen with the Fernie Hounds, and were both 'bloodied' by Lord Stallbridge when he was Master'.
