Alfred Holbrook was born in 1884 in Bardon Hill, Coalville, Leicestershire. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Frederick Holbrook, and the husband of Nora Holbrook, residing at Bardon Hill, Leicestershire.

Alfred enlisted with the Army in Coalville Leicestershire.

He was reported killed in action in the Coalville Times of the Friday 29th December 1916.

He died on the 15th October 1916; his death was acknowledged in October 1916, he was 32 years old.
