The War Diary entry for the 9th to the 15th August 1916 records. Battn relieved the 5th Battn LEICESTERSHIRE REGT in right sector, relief complete 9.30pm. Relief delayed owing to our heavy and medium trench mortars firing on enemy lines. Enemy shelled BIENVILLERS very heavily for about 3 hours. Six days tour in right sector, very quiet, hardly any shelling or activities taking place. Battn working on defences, especially front line wire and entanglements. Much good work done. Relieved in right sector by 5th Battn LEICESTERSHIRE REGT. Battn went back for six days rest to POMMIER.
