Ashby a Boot Manufacturer, born 1862 in Leicester and his wife Anne, born 1865 in Leicester. Thomas Philip was born in 1889 in Leicester, his siblings were Dorothy A., born 1892, Agnes E., born 1894, Francis J., born 1896 and Herbert C., born 1899, all his siblings were born in Leicester. In March 1901 the family home was at Elm Leigh, Narborough Road, Leicester. In April 1911 Thomas was employed as an Assistant Teacher and was residing as a boarder at 18, Turner Road, Leicester. The Wyggeston Grammar School for Boys published a Roll of Honour on the 31st January 1920 in which an entry appears showing him to have been a pupil at the school from 1897 to 1904. It also records that he was killed in action whilst serving with the Royal Air Force.
