He was the son of George and Eliza Hall. The War Diary for today records that the Battalion were in the front line. Brigade Operational Order 237 received relative to relief of Brigade by units of 25th Division. Battalion to be relieved from support by the 11th Cheshire Regiment on the night of 28th/29th September and proceed to Gyampricourt. At 11.00pm relief by 9th Norfolk Regiment complete. Battalion billeted in cellars in eastern end of Cite St. Pierre. Support Battalion to Brigade. Casualties, other ranks B Company 1 killed.
