The War Diary entry for the 9th June 1917 records. TRENCHES. Patrols were out all night but encountered no enemy. The German wire at U.13.t.9.6. was investigated and found to be much damaged but still formed a considerable obstacle. At 11.30pm enemy shelled back area heavily with 5.9’s and 4.2’s. The enemy appear to be using the instantaneous fuse.
