In April 1891 Charles was a schoolboy and was residing in the family home at Chapel Lane, Oadby, Leics., together with his father a framework knitter, his step mother, Esther Elliott (nee Gilbert, married q4 1890 in the Blaby, Leics. district), born 1864 in Oadby, Leics., and his siblings, Fred, a shoe trade riveter, Walter, a shoe trade riveter and Herbert, a shoe trade riveter, and his half blood sibling, Louis, a schoolboy, born 1883 in Leics. In March 1901 Charles was employed as a shoe trade riveter and was residing in the family home at Leicester Road, Chapel Street, Oadby, Leics., together with his father, a glove trade worker, his step mother, and his sibling, Louis, a shoe trade riveter, and his half blood siblings, Eveline, a schoolgirl, born 1894, Constance, a schoolgirl, born 1896 and Lucy Ann, born 1900, the latter three half blood siblings were all born in Oadby, Leics. In April 1911 Charles was employed as a boot trade machine operator and was residing in the family home at Spencer Street, Oadby, Leics., together with his wife, Eva Emily Elliott (nee Weaver, married q4 1903 in the Blaby, Leics. district), born 1880 in Leicester and their children, Cyril Charles, a schoolboy, born 1906 and Eva Essie, born 1909, both the children were born in Oadby, Leics.
