He was the son of Mr and Mrs Robert G. Lawson. The War Diary for today records. LIEVIN. 2nd Lt W. A. FERGUSON severely wounded. This officer died of wounds 15th instant.

Frank died on the same day as his comrade Albert Dayman, also of the 1/4th Leicestershire Regiment, and they are buried in the same military cemetery in the Pas de Calais, France. Photographs of the graves of both men were sent in by P. Dayman in 2019.
