He was the son of Henry Barradell a Sash Frame Maker, born 1868 in Loughborough, Leicestershire and his wife Harriett, born 1871 in Ratby, Leicestershire. Edward was a Schoolboy and was born in 1900 in Loughborough, Leicestershire, his siblings were Gilbert, Henry, born 1892, Francis, born 1894, Ethel, born 1896, Wilfred, born 1898, Grace, born 1903, May, born 1905, Kate, born 1907, Helen, born 1909 and Archie, born 1911, all his siblings were born in Loughborough, Leicestershire. In April 1911 the family home was at 53, Leopold Street, Loughborough, Leicestershire. Edward was drowned in the North Sea from RMS Leinster.
