2ND LIEUT VINCENT SLADEN WING
65TH HOWITZER BATTERY RFA. KILLED IN FRANCE 10TH AUGUST 1917 AGED 19
ONLY SON OF JOHN SALDEN WING OF THIS PARISH. HE LOVED ALL THINGS
TRUE AND BEAUTIFUL AND WILLINGLY GAVE HIS LIFE FOR GOD'S CAUSE, FOR HIS
COUNTRY AND FOR US. HIS BODY LIES AT LA GORGUE, ESTAIRES, FRANCE
I THANK MY GOD UPON EVERY REMEMBRANCE OF YOU
