Two plaques in the secular cemetery; one in sandstone (in poor condition) dedicated to Everard Phillips de Lisle, with a more modern replacement above to the same, erected by his descendant, Gerard de Lisle, to ensure the inscription is legible. It was the Phillips family who bought the land that was given to the Cistercian Order monks. They founded Mount St Bernards in 1835. Pugin designed the monastery that was opened there in 1844.
