ContributeLarge Mountsorrel granite cross at top of hill, with memorial of granite set into bedrock beneath bearing plaques of Swithland slate with gold inscription (WW1 larger and above WW2). Associated sign on blue background at bottom of hill. Unveiled Sunday 28th November 1920 by Major General Sir AR Hosking KCB CMG DSO; dedicated by Rural Dean Rev Arthur King. Site donated by William Curzon-Herrick; memorial cost c.450 pounds.

MEMORIAL IS SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF THOSE WHO
HAVE DIED TO DEFEND THEIR COUNTRY AND UPHOLD
THE RIGHT.
IT IS HOPED THAT ALL WHO COME WILL TREAT THE
MEMORIAL WITH THE REVERENCE WHICH IS DUE TO
THE FALLEN.
