Details from linked article - A rowan tree planted at a ceremony on 12 April 2011 held in honour of Flying Officer JM Ramert of the Polish Air Force and his 14 year old ATC observer, Cadet Roy John Shaw, who were killed in August 1942, near Husbands Bosworth's wartime aerodrome. The crash occurred when a Miles Master trainer aircraft from RAF Castle Bromwich struck a tree and crashed in Bosworth Park.It was carrying out a low-level high-speed pass as gun-traversing practice for the airfield's anti-aircraft gun battery.
