ContributeStoreton (Cheshire) stone tower with clock faces to front and rear and bronze inscription panels on each face of lower stage. Upper stage has carved wreath below clock on all four sides and is surmounted by a carved lion. Steps and plateau of Yorkshire stone. Originally at site of a lamp and horse trough on High Street in Syston but moved in late 1960s to ease traffic flow. Unveiled by Duke of Rutland; dedicated by Vicar Rev TR Avery. Cost 1050 pounds.
