Associated with WMP1361. 59 rose trees were planted by families of the fallen on Saturday 6 March 1921 to commemorate each WW1 soldier, with a small plaque on a stake in front of each. Major Hurst of Burbage Nurseries had served in the Territoreal Army for 20 years and he provided the roses with the promise that he and his heirs and successors would keep and maintain the garden for all time. The Nurseries continued to maintain the garden until their closure in 1970. Memorial enclosure replanted 1996 with a rose especially bred for the 75th Anniversary of the Royal British Legion. Some of the original name plaques were still in the ground and these were rescued and preserved.
