ContributeStone Cross on rectangular plinth, on two tiered shallow base. Cross has sword detail on face, with metal wreath at base with small metal plaque inside. Plinth has names incribed direct on face in black lettering. Unveiled Thursday 24th November 1921 by HRH the Duke of York; dedicated by Ven Archdeacon FB Macnutt. Small stone tablet resting on lower step of base with WW2 names. Previously sited in The Square, outside the King William IV Inn - faculty granted for move 23rd December 1949 due to "abuse by the public" (DE 1465/37/1); British Legion paid for removal and re-erection expenses. "VC" added after Buckingham's name after AF visited monument.
