Cornish granite Crusader's cross with metal sword on front face, on squared plinth surmounting three tiered base. Inscription on front and rear faces of plinth and separate WW2 tablet resting on steps beneath. Unveiled Saturday 1 January 1921 by Colonel Sir Charles E Yate, Bart MP; dedicated by Vicar, Rev J Orr MA. Cost 200 pounds. The ground was given by Major (later Col) EC Packe in 1919 on condition that it be converted into a village green and be the site of a memorial to local men lost in the Great War. Rededicated 15 April 2007 after renovation works.
