Large pink granite structure comprising flat pediment on two columns, on plinth surmounting stepped stone base. Bronze cross surmounts pediment and is studded with light bulbs. Bronze plaques mounted on stone base between columns. Whole surrounded by stone pillars with small stone bearing inscription nearby. Symbolical of the "ever open door". Unveiled 15th August 1926 by Major Gen. Van Straubenzee CB CMG, General Officer commanding the North Midland Division; dedicated by Arch-deacon of Loughborough Rev WP Hurrell.
