He was the son of Alfred and Sarah Ann Adcock. In 1901 the family home was at 2, Flint Street, Leicester, present were his father Alfred a Commercial Traveller, born 1863 in Buckingham, Buckinghamshire and his mother Sarah A., born 1861 in Brackley, Northamptonshire. Alfred F. was born in 1889 in Leicester, at home there were one brother and two sisters, Frank W. born 1895, Eveline M. born 1890 and Florence B. born 1896, all his siblings were born in Leicester. In 1911 the family home was at 243, Humberstone Road, Leicester, present were his father Alfred, a Traveller and his step mother mother Ellen Jane, born in 1870 in Sibertoft, Northamptonshire. Alfred Foxley was a Warehouseman, at home there were one brother and three sisters, Frank Wilson a Grocers Apprentice, Eveline Maud a Milliner, Florence Blanche a Schoolgirl, and Doris Margaret born 1906 in Leicester.
