View Further Details Memorial Type:Garden, Gate or Lychgate Ref: WMP0742 Other Designation: Conservation Area Notes: The gates to the Garden of Remembrance came originally from the Gopsall Hall estate. Following the end of WW2 there was some public debate about whether to move the WW1 memorial cross to the new garden of remembrance. This idea was eventually dismissed (people protested that the Market Square was where the soldiers marched out from, so should be the spot where they were honoured).
