ContributeClipsham stone market cross topped with closed lantern bearing carvings of crucifixion, Madonna and child, St Martin dividing his cloak and St George and the Dragon. Above octagonal shaft surmounting two stepped pedestal on three stepped octagonal base. Unveiled Thursday 6th April 1922 by Major General Sir AE Codrington KCVO CB; dedicated by Bishop of Peterborough. Stone donated by Mr J Davenport-Handley, Clipsham Hall. Book by Mr G Phillips containing names and biographies of the fallen and their photographs, previously hung upon altar war shrine in the church, was placed in a sealed leaden casket and deposited in the centre of the stonework of the memorial.
